Positive Pay

Prevent the most common types of check fraud

Here’s how Positive Pay works:

  • As you issue checks, you create a disbursement file detailing specific information about each check disbursement.
  • The disbursement file is securely uploaded to Bank of Wisconsin and used to verify authenticity when the check is presented for payment.
  • If the information doesn’t match, the check will appear on a daily exception report for your review through Business Online Banking.
  • You can then make the decision to pay or not to pay the check.

Positive Pay also prevents duplicate checks from being paid. For more information about Positive Pay, contact the business solutions team.
